May 31, 1921 — Sep 20, 2009

Roy Lee Bailey AKA Merle Jerome; Our beloved husband, father, and "Popo" left us on Sunday, September 20, 2009. He was 88 years old, born in Wellington on May 31, 1921, to Harry and Epsie Bailey. In his early day, he spent time helping his parents on their farm. He became a welder in the Liberty shipyards in California on Terminal Island during World War II. When he returned to Fort Collins in 1945, he was a master welder for Ideal Basic Cement Co. in LaPorte. Upon his retirement after 34 years with Ideal, he drove school buses for Poudre R-1 School District for 3 years. Roy married the love of his life in 1942, Rhodabelle Cutshall, who survives him. Roy and Rhodabelle raised five daughters, Faye Davis, Victoria Cooley (Dave), Linda Palmer (Frank), Bonnie Vail, and Sandy Bailey. He is also grandfather to 13 wonderful grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. "Popo" loved spending time with all his family, fishing, hunting, and camping. He will be forever loved and missed by his wife, daughters, and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and sisters, and his daughter Sandy. To honor "Popo", a viewing is planned for Thursday, September 24 at Goes Funeral Care, 3665 Canal Drive (behind the Days Inn on Highway 14) at 10:00 am – noon. A graveside service will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, at Grandview Cemetery. Rhodabelle and their daughters will be happy to receive visitors at the Bailey home following the service.
