Roy Conrad Bath

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Roy C. Bath, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on July 30, 1947, in Denver, Colorado, Roy lived a life dedicated to family, service, and community, leaving an undeniable mark on all who knew him.

Roy was a devoted husband to Isabel for 42 years, building a marriage rooted in love and support. Together, they created a home filled with joy and laughter, leaving behind memories that will be cherished forever. As a father, Roy was a pillar of strength and wisdom for his three children: Jason, married to Jennie Bath; Sara, married to Kijika (Ki) Istre; and Daniel (Dan), married to Erin Terry Bath. He was incredibly proud of the lives his children built and the love they shared with their families.

Roy was a proud and doting grandfather to his four grandchildren, who brought him immense joy: Jude and Wyatt, the children of Sara and Ki; and Samantha and Brooks, the children of Dan and Erin, all of whom lovingly called him "Papi." His grandchildren will forever cherish the special moments shared with their Papi, remembering his stories, warmth, and unwavering love.

As a Vietnam veteran, Roy's service to his country instilled in him a deep sense of justice and compassion. After his military service, he dedicated his career to the Public Defenders Office as an investigator, where he made lifelong friendships and worked tirelessly for fairness and integrity in the justice system.

Beyond this family, Roy's passion and dedication to peace led him to volunteer with the Veterans for Peace. He also found solace in Japanese culture, particularly the tranquility of Japanese tea ceremonies, which reflected his calm and thoughtful approach to life. Roy was also a member of the Quaker church, where his faith in peace and simplicity guided his life. Roy's love for sushi was well known, as was his appreciation for a good pun, which kept him laughing. Just ask Dan, he would love to "tako" about it.

Roy's love for Colorado ran deep. He enjoyed the beauty of nature and was an avid fan of the Denver Nuggets and the Colorado Rockies. His connection to the outdoors and his home state was something that always grounded him. He also spent countless hours reading, with a particular love for philosophy, reflecting his deep, thoughtful nature. Whether enjoying long rides on his road bike or engaging in a spirited political debate, Roy always sought connection and understanding with the world around him. Though he embraced the complexities of life and enjoyed philosophical discussions, technology never quite captured his interest. He remained true to simplicity, proudly sticking with his trusty flip phone while the world around him went digital.

Roy is survived by his immediate family, as well as his siblings, nieces, nephews, and extended family, all of whom will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad and Doris Bath, his brother Wayne Bath, and his cousin Paula Bath.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Veterans for Peace, in Roy's honor.

Roy will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, service, and peace will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Rest in peace, Roy. Your strength, kindness, and unwavering dedication will continue to inspire us all.
