Beloved husband and father, Roy D. Rogers, 74 of Fort Collins passed away November 17, 2016 at Pathways Hospice in Loveland, Colorado with his beloved wife and dog by his side.
Roy was born in Shaftner, CA on February 16, 1942 to parents DO and Noma Rogers. He grew up in Bakersfield, CA and graduated from North High School in 1960.
Roy entered law enforcement in the late 60's and joined LAPD in 1970 where he served 23 years as a police officer.
Roy was an avid golfer and moved to Fort Collins in 1998 to join Ptarmigan Country Club. He was a beloved member of Ptarmigan Country Club for 18 years. To keep him busy, he started a handyman business. Starting with friends and advertising by word of mouth, he became quite successful at his business and could not keep up with the demand.
Roy is survived by his wife, Sondra; daughter Sabrina (Ryan) Ferguson, son Kennith Rogers, step-daughter Denise Wright, step-daughter Pam (Rick) Cavish, brother Travis (Jeannie) Rogers, and his beloved dog Oliver. He has 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at Public Service Credit Union under the spouse's name: Sondra Rogers, account number: 645025-01. The memorial fund will be used to pay for all end of life expenses. The remainder will be donated to a cancer charity that is actually curing cancer.
A celebration of Roy's life will be held at Ptarmigan Country Club on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 2:00pm.
