Ruth Donnelly

d. Mar 26, 2025

Ruth Donnelly of Fort Collins passed peacefully March 26, 2025 at the age of 98. Her last days were spent with family and close friends at hand.

Ruth was born in Lippoldsweiler, Germany and was the last living of her much loved six siblings. Ruth met and married Dudley Donnelly while Dudley was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. After Dudley's service, they moved to Omaha, Nebraska to raise their three children: Michael Donnelly (deceased); Steven Donnelly (Sharon); Christine Haase (David). In retirement Ruth and Dudley moved to Fort Collins where they spent over twenty years hiking northern Colorado trails, exploring Colorado and surrounding states, and making many new friends together before Dudley's passing.

Ruth loved God and was a faithful servant. She quietly sought out ways to befriend others and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Ruth especially loved being Omi to her four grandchildren (Liz and Key Donnelly, Jacob and Micah Haase); she was very involved in their lives and created many wonderful and lasting memories with them. She is also survived by her two step -grand children Nathan (Melissa) and Todd (Katie) Hunter and two step-great grandchildren, Brooks and Cole. Ruth was also an active member of her church, maintaining strong connections with her church family, and was an avid reader and gardener well into her 90s.

In her last years, Ruth was still an action figure, tooling around in her wheelchair to chat with residents and staff at her assisted living facility.

Ruth will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
