Sandra "Sandi" Gay Simonds, 88, passed away February 17, 2026, at The Gardens at Collinwood assisted living care facility in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was born in 1937 in Ayr, Nebraska. Sandi graduated from Hastings High School in 1955.
She married Richard D. Simonds in 1962 and went on to share 52 loving years of marriage and family with him. They lived in Denver and Fort Collins where together they raised two children. Before starting her family Sandi worked as a secretary at Martin Marietta in Denver. She then transitioned to thrive as a homemaker. In her free time, she enjoyed singing in her church choir and volunteering for causes close to her heart such as her children's school library, the Larimer Humane Society, Post Polio support groups and the Alzheimer's Association.
She is survived by her son Scott (wife, Robin) Simonds, daughter Rachel (husband, Cary) Sanders, and five grandchildren. Drew Simonds, Bode Simonds, Elin Simonds,
Charly (Sanders) Rynders (husband, Mitch) and Jacy (Sanders) Suchy (husband, Cameron)
She is preceded in death by her husband Richard D. Simonds, her parents and a brother.
