Sarah "Sadie" Frisby

May 22, 1927 — Sep 12, 2013

Sarah (Sadie) Frisby died peacefully on September 12, 2013 after a brief illness.

Sarah Eagleson was born May 22, 1927 in Dalmuir Scotland to Margaret and David Eagleson. At 14 Sadie went to work in Mr. Young's jewelry store until at age 25, she immigrated to Canada with her best friend, Pat. They spent two years working as home helps then moved to Denver with Pat's Aunt Mary. Sadie loved Denver in the 1950's and her job at Time-Life magazine. Sadie became a U.S. citizen in April, 1959, and would proudly tell anyone who would listen that "I am an American". In the spring of 1959 Sadie met Tom, recently widowed, and his four children. It was love at first sight. Sadie spent the summer of 1959 with her family in Scotland and returned to Denver to marry Tom on November 14, 1959.

Sadie and Tom moved to Fort Collins in 1966 to finish raising their family. Sadie worked as a librarian at Moore Elementary School and later worked at United Bank. She belonged to Westminster Presbyterian Church, Newcomers, Beta Sigma Phi, and volunteered at Poudre Valley Hospital. Sadie loved needlework, knitting and reading. She finished her high school diploma at Fort Collins High in 1969.

Sadie was a loving wife and mother and a devoted friend. Sadie loved people. When she moved into The Winslow they called her "the ambassador" because she knew everyone and was the first to greet newcomers. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sadie was preceded in death by her husband Tom, their two sons, her parents, two brothers, a sister, and a grandson. She is survived by her daughters Maggie (Scott Glick), Cheryl (Bob Cassell), and Debbie, her sisters, Iris and Lily, 9 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her many wonderful and loving friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mack at PVHS, Dr. Podhajsky, and the 5th floor nurses and nurse's aides for their loving care of Sadie and the family. Donations in lieu of flowers to Pathways Hospice, or a favorite charity.
