The family of Scott Olson invites you to a celebration of Scott's life on September 23, 2016 at Lory State Park, the Timber picnic site (park pass will be paid by Scott's family). This spot is reserved from dawn to dusk for our use but we will formally gather at 1:30 pm for songs, psalms, prayers and conversation.
Please join us following the service for a picnic lunch provided by The Cafe Athens. There are many activities to enjoy here, including hiking, biking, volleyball, horseshoes, and story-telling (with s'mores) around the fire pit. Wear your picnic-going, outdoor clothes and bring a camp chair if desired (picnic tables are provided).

Scott D. Olson, age 47, passed away July 30, 2016 at his home in Fort Collins, CO after a long illness. Scott was born in Redwood Falls, MN on February 7, 1969. He graduated from Papillion/LaVista High School in Nebraska and then from American Institute of Baking (AIB) in Manhattan, KS. Scott started working in the food industry while still in h igh school and eventually worked for such food giants as Pillsbury (he was literally the Pillsbury Doughboy at several food shows early in his career!), JW Allen, Rustco Products and most recently for Whole foods Bakehouse in Aurora, CO. Scott loved to camp and fish and spend time with friends and family.
Scott is survived by his parents, Dick and Diane Olson of Fort Collins; brother, Dean Olson of Denver; sister, Dana (and Bill) Rogers; nieces and nephews, Sasha, Emily, Haleigh, Zach and Kaden all of Fort Collins; his grandmother, Margaret Retrum of Richland Center, WI; and many relatives in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Texas. Scott will be sorely missed but lovingly remembered for his love of animals, his kindness, optimism and generosity.
A memorial picnic is being planned and will be held this fall in the mountains Scott so loved. Date, time and place will be determined later.
Memorial contributions will be donated to the Humane Society of Larimer County in Scott's memory.
