Sherry Nowell

Sherry Dale Nowell, age 62, of Fort Collins died on October 2, 2010 at a local care facility of Alzheimer's Disease. Cremation will be conducted and a private family service will be held. Memorial contributions in Sherry's name may be made to Larimer Humane Society. Sherry was born on April 17, 1948 in Fort Collins to Dale and Frances Nelsen. She grew up a local girl and graduated in 1966 from Fort Collins High School and attended college at Northeastern Junior College and Colorado State University. She was married for three years to James Nowell and together they had a daughter, Tiffany. Sherry worked at the Larimer County Courthouse for 26 years as an accountant. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Sherry was an avid equestrian and was involved in raising and showing quarter horses. She was a member of Boots & Spurs Riding Club, the Hayburners 4-H Club, and a Rocky Mountain Quarter Horse Association Pole Bending Champion. She loved her animals and mostly her horses and especially Cowboy, whom she had for over 20 years. Sherry is survived by her daughter, Tiffany Nowell; mother, Frances Nelsen; sister, Debbie Moore and husband, Ken all of Fort Collins; niece Kimberly Dietz of Severence; nephew Ryan Moore of San Diego, CA; grand-nephews Tavin, Jacob and Ethan.
