Sherry Vlach Tuffield, age 48 of Fort Collins, Colorado, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at her home and is now sleeping with the angels. Sherry Frisbee was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on October 4, 1960. She grew up in Cicero, Illinois and lived in North St. Paul, MN and Phoenix, Arizona prior to moving to Fort Collins ten years ago. She intended to become a police officer and received a degree in Psychology from St. Catherine University in St. Paul. She also graduated from the Police Academy in Minneapolis-St. Paul but decided she was more suited for the hospitality industry. So she worked as an events coordinator for All Occasions Catering in Ft. Collins. Sherry was serious and enthusiastic about her work and was very good at it as well. Sherry was an amazing cook; she loved to ride; and had the Midas touch with her organizing and her decorating. She always saw to other's needs first, taking care of, and being a mother to, anyone who she felt needed her. Life meant a lot to her and she loved to have fun; she loved people; and she loved to help people wherever she could. She is survived by her husband, Rich Tuffield; two sons, Joe Vlach of Loveland, CO and Army Specialist Matt Vlach (and his wife, Nora) of Washington State; a daughter, Sarah Vlach of Loveland; her mother, Carol O'Rourke of Phillips, WI; two sisters, Kathy Bornhoeft and Janet Vlach, both of Phillips; and a brother, Steve Rutledge of Fort Collins. She was preceded in death by a baby daughter, Heather; her step-dad, Wes and her guardian, Doc. A celebration of Sherry's life will be held beginning at 2:00 PM Sunday at Sol's Long Branch Saloon in LaPorte. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 6:00 PM Tuesday and a funeral service at 6:00PM Tuesday at the Vineyard Church at 1201 Riverside, Ft. Collins. Cremation will follow the service here and another service will be held in at the Word of Life Church on Saturday, October 18th in Phillips.
