Stanley Gryziec, 63 of Windsor, Colorado, died May 23, 2013 at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins.
Stanley Carl Gryziec, Jr. was born October 14, 1949 in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania to Stanley and Clara Gryziec. He graduated in 1967 from the Northwest Area High School in Shickshinny, Pennsylvania, and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Stan applied his Chemical Engineering education as a batch and furnace engineer for Owens-Illinois in Pittston, Pennsylvania and Windsor, Colorado; with a nearly 27-year career with Techneglas, Inc. in Pittston in between. He had been with Owens-Illinois in Windsor since 2005.
While in Pennsylvania, Stanley enjoyed gardening and farming. After moving to Colorado, he was struck by the beauty of the Rocky Mountains and visited many of the state parks and other scenic landmarks in the region.
Stanley was a loving and dedicated husband and father. He was a very honest, hard-working and caring man. Stan's kindness, quick wit and sense of humor will be greatly missed by family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; son, Joshua Gryziec of Boulder, Colorado; daughter, Angela Gryziec of New Albany, Pennsylvania; his sister and brother-in-law, Pearl and Rodney Race of Noxen, Pennsylvania; his sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn and William Johnson of Kingston, Pennsylvania; and nephews and nieces, Dr. Jonathan Johnson of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Chad Antolik of Lake Pinecrest, Pennsylvania, Catherine Stefanowicz of Sweet Valley, Pennsylvania and Rhonda Darko of Noxen, Pennsylvania.
Stan's family wishes to send warm and heartfelt thanks to the oncology nurses and doctors at Poudre Valley Hospital who took such good care of him during his illness. Plans are being made for the interment and a memorial service, to be held at the Dodson Cemetery in Southdale, Pennsylvania.
