Susan Hires

Susan Orso Hires, age 53 of Fort Collins, Colorado died December 26, 2009 at the Pathways Hospice Care Center in Loveland, CO. A service in celebration of her life will be held Monday, January 4th at 2:00 PM in Cafeteria F at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins. Susan Janelle Orso was born February 25, 1956 in Mobile, Alabama to Clifford Eugene and Florence Remola Orso. She grew up in Thomasville, Georgia and lived there most of her life. She loved animals and formerly owned and operated a pet shop in Thomasville named Little Critters Pet Shop. In addition to her love for animals, she will be well remembered for her dedication (almost an addiction) to her work. Susan graduated from Thomas Tech as a Respiratory Therapist, moved to Fort Collins in 1996 and has worked at Poudre Valley Hospital ever since. She is survived by her two children, Matt Shane Pyles of Fort Collins and Ashley Pyles of Tucson, AZ; her mother, Remola Morris of Cairo, GA; siblings, Brenda (and John) Corley of Cairo, GA, Richard (and Shonda) Orso of Thomasville, GA and Jennifer (and Randy) Lewis of Cairo; her third and most precious child, Mosey a Great Dane; and numerous nieces and nephews. Susan's father, Gene Orso preceded her in death. Susan's family requests that any memorial donations please be made to Pathways Hospice, The American Lung Association or to your local Animal Shelter in her memory.
