Suzanne (Sue) R Bethel

Sep 13, 1954 — Jul 17, 2025

Suzanne (Sue) R. Bethel, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home in Fort Collins, Colorado, on July 17, 2025.

Sue was born on September 13, 1954, in Billings, Montana, to Suzanne S. Robertson and William F. Robertson, Jr. She spent her early years in Billings, Durango, and Littleton, Colorado, before moving to Casper, Wyoming, in 1971. She graduated from Natrona County High School in 1972 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Wyoming in 1977.
While attending college, Sue met the love of her life, Glenn Ross Bethel (Ross). They were married on June 4, 1977, and together raised their two children—and a few cherished cocker spaniels—in Denver, Colorado. Sue was a devoted mother, always involved in her children's activities, while also working in medical records. Her warmth and creativity shone through in her love for family visits, church involvement, and craft projects.

In 2014, Sue and Ross moved to Fort Collins, where they enjoyed being active caregivers for their grandchildren. Sue found great joy in teaching, exploring, and sharing her love of nature with them. She was active with WOW (Women of the Word) at Redeemer Lutheran Church, and her faith was a source of strength throughout her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Sue loved the outdoors, animals, and traveling with her family—especially to beaches and the peaceful mountains. She and Ross treasured their time at their Estes Park condo, where they spent ten joyful years surrounded by natural beauty.

Above all, Sue's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She is survived by her loving husband Ross; daughter Brianna Havlik (Robert) of Fort Collins; son Ryan Bethel (Georgia) of Gretna, Nebraska; several beloved grandchildren, siblings, and in laws.
