Sylvia E. Saffer went to be with her Lord & Savior on October 20, 2016 due to complications of Parkinson's Disease. Sylvia was born in Scott County, IL on September 20, 1932 to Russell and Mary Mabel (Summers) Sellars. She married Jesse James (Jim) Saffer on August 27, 1950. They moved to Fort Collins, CO in 1965, where Sylvia was residing at the time of her death.
Sylvia collected Fenton art glass and crystal, she had a booth at the local Flea Market for several years, she was always looking for treasures. Sylvia also loved going to the mountains and thoroughly enjoyed fishing with Jim at private ponds for the last 10 years of Jim's retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband.
She is survived by twin daughters; Sherri (Bob) Griffin and Merri (Clayton- deceased) Engel both of Fort Collins, CO; three granddaughters, Melisa (Ryan) Gloden of Fort Collins, CO, Kerri (Ryan) Tietz of Gilbert, AZ, Micki (Paul) Phillips of Riverton, UT; one great-granddaughter, Sheridan Tietz and four great-grandsons, Gage & Gavin Gloden, Henry & Benjamin Phillips; 2 sisters, Melba (Richard) Brogdon of Jacksonville, IL and Mary (Tom) Steelman of Winchester, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association or National Parkinson's Foundation.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date in Winchester, IL
