Sylvia Mildred Schroeder, 88, of Fort Collins, died on September 24, 2013.
Sylvia was born to the late Martin and Frances Kesl, on October 3, 1924, in Chicago, IL. Sylvia graduated as Valedictorian from Buckley High School in Buckley, MI in 1942. She married Richard (Dick) Lee Schroeder on June 30, 1945, in New London, CT. They lived together in Chicago, IL, for 61 years before relocating to Fort Collins in 2007.
Sylvia's primary devotion in life was to her husband and family. Together, Sylvia and Dick raised their three children in Chicago, and their house was always open for friends and family. Sylvia and Dick enjoyed traveling together, and traversed North America in their motor home, including several trips to remote parts of Alaska and Canada. White living in Chicago, Sylvia was active in many social groups, including bowling, square dancing, card clubs, and RV camping.
Sylvia is survived by her husband, Dick, and her three children Patsy(Jerry) Manning, Penny(Ted) Schumm, and Rick(Marianne) Schroeder. She also is survived by 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
At Sylvia's request, there will be no memorial service and we honor her memory in our hearts. Memorial contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice 305 Carpenter Road, Fort Collins, CO 80525, Community Care for Northern Colorado.
