Tamara Jayne "Tammy" Thomas

Feb 9, 1947 — Jul 11, 2026

Tamara Jayne Thomas, lovingly known as "Tammy," passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Brookdale in Fort Collins, Colorado, at the age of 79, following complications from Alzheimer's disease. A lifelong Christian, Tammy's faith was the foundation of her life, and her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior.

Tammy was born on February 9, 1947, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Don W. Pearce and Mary Alice Lobaugh. She grew up in Kansas City alongside her sister, Kathy Valencia, and her brother, Don Pearce, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Wyandotte High School with the Class of 1965.

On April 1, 1983, Tammy married the love of her life, Terry H. Thomas, in Overland Park, Kansas. Together they built a life filled with love, adventure, and lasting friendships. After retiring from The Thomas Agency in Kansas City, Tammy and Terry embraced retirement by traveling the West Coast in their motorhome as wholesale representatives, visiting beautiful resort towns and creating cherished memories while meeting countless new friends.

Tammy had a gift for making every gathering feel special. Whether hosting a dinner party, entertaining at home, or organizing an event through work, she found genuine joy in bringing people together. She was devoted to her family and treasured time spent with those she loved. Tammy also proudly served on the Liberty Common Grandparents Club Board, where she enjoyed supporting her community and staying involved in the lives of her grandchildren.

She took immense pride in creating a beautiful home and delighted in shopping excursions to redecorate, remodel, and add thoughtful touches to every space. Tammy loved sunshine, pedicures, and always looked fabulous from head to toe. She lived with grace, warmth, and an encouraging spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Throughout her life, Tammy called Kansas City, Kansas; Overland Park, Kansas; Estes Park, Colorado; and Fort Collins, Colorado home. She and Terry also enjoyed spending time at their second home in Palm Springs, California.

Tammy is survived by her loving daughters, Marlo Thomas Rhea of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Terri Lynn "Missy" Johnson and husband Eric of Overland Park, Kansas. She was a proud grandmother to Maile Rhea of Denver, Colorado; Taylor Rhea of Fort Collins, Colorado; Dustin Johnson of Overland Park, Kansas; and Lindsey Johnson of Overland Park, Kansas. Also surviving Tammy are her sister, Kathy Valencia of Olathe, Kansas, sister-in-law Linda Pearce of Leawood, Kansas, her neice Shari Murphy and her husband Tim and thier children Andrew, Deborah, and Jacob, nephew Jeff Sheppard and his wife Kristi and their children Drew and Ty, and nephew Don Pearce..

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Terry H. Thomas, and her brother, Don Pearce.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 24, 2026, in Fort Collins, Colorado. Additional service details will be announced through Goes Funeral Care at GoesFuneralCare.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association through Goes Funeral Care or directly to www.alz.org

Tammy's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Morning Star, Brookdale and Bristol Hospice who supported her throughout her journey, and to the many friends and loved ones whose kindness and presence enriched her life.

Tammy will be remembered for her unwavering faith, encouraging optimism, generous heart, elegant style, and the love she poured into her family and friends. She lived with grace, compassion, and the quiet confidence that God would guide every step. Her favorite words reflected the way she lived each day:

"Everything will always work out in the end, one way or another."

While she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, her family rejoices in the promise that she is at peace in heaven and reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. Her encouraging, positive, and loving spirit will continue to inspire all whose lives she touched.
