Dr. Terril Rector Glasgow, 68, originally of West Jefferson, Ohio, passed away April 21,
2017 in Fort Collins, Colorado.
A longtime resident of Windsor, Colorado, Terril, the oldest of 5 siblings and mother to
4, graduated from West Jefferson High School in 1966. From there she moved to
Tucson, Arizona, where she met her husband of almost 50 years, Jeffry Glasgow. She
spent 14 years as a naval wife, overseeing the daunting task of moving her family more
than 19 times from coast to coast and Guam - often alone while Jeff was deployed for
6-9 months of the year. A resilient woman of great strength, artistry, and intelligence,
she was a steadying force to her growing family.
She eventually settled in Windsor, Colorado in 1982. After working for the Windsor
School District as a bus driver for many years, Terril pursued her dream to return to
school. In quick succession, she obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice,
and her Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling. During this time, she worked for the
Greeley School District as a substitute teacher, as a Child Protection Specialist for Weld
County Social Services, and as a Drug and Alcohol counselor for the Villa at Greeley's
pre-parole facility.
In 2002, at the age of 53, she received her Ph.D. from the University of Northern
Colorado in Human Rehabilitation, with an emphasis in co-occurring mental health and
substance abuse disorders and counseling. She had served as an Adjunct Professor
with the University of Northern Colorado, and was nominated for "Most Inspirational
Professor" in 2007.
From there she worked as a Clinical Therapist and In-House Group Facilitator for
Intervention Community Corrections Services. At the time of her death, Terril was with
North Range Behavioral Health as an inpatient drug and alcohol counselor.
In addition to her educational and career pursuits, Terril was a gifted artist in many
mediums - crewel and needlework, ceramics, photography, woodworking, antique
restoration, and oil and watercolor painting. Many of her creations reside in homes all
over the country.
Terril is survived by her husband, Jeffry Glasgow of Windsor, CO; children Christina
(Mark) Cooper of Eaton, CO; Bethany (Ken Warren) Glasgow of Windsor, CO; Jeffry
