Terry Eugene Dodds, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully at home in Fort Collins, CO, on May 14, 2025. He was 75 years old. Terry was born on September 13, 1949, in Longmont, CO, to the late Wilfred and Dorothy (Kellogg) Dodds. Terry, the third generation born in Longmont, had a grandfather (first generation), mother (second generation), and son (fourth generation) who were also born in Longmont. Terry grew up in Lafayette, CO, and graduated from Lafayette High School. After high school, he attended Northeastern College in Sterling, CO, and later earned his Associate of Applied Science degree in Architectural Technology at Community College of Denver.
In 1970, Terry married Jennifer Oldfield in Boulder, CO. They were married for 55 years
and had three children.
In 1970, Terry served in the United States Army stationed in Fort Riley, KS, and Kaiserslautern, Germany. He was honorably discharged after his service.
The Dodds family lived in Longmont, CO, where he worked for Nor-Colo and developed lifelong friendships. In 1991, the Dodds family moved to Fort Collins, CO, where he worked for Anheuser-Busch until his retirement.
Terry was always passionate about technology, especially after getting a Commodore 64 computer in 1982 that he used to program computer games. His passion for computers became his hobby after getting a Dell Desktop in the early 1990s. He was called "that computer guy" because he provided IT support for friends and family and taught people how to operate their computers.
Terry enjoyed cooking, especially a family recipe for green chili that he tinkered with until it was his "best batch yet," he said, every time he made it. He also enjoyed cars. Growing up in Lafayette, Terry and his friends used to swap cars so they could see how their car looked driving down the road. He owned a blue 1967 Camaro, a yellow Chevy truck in the 1980s, and several Volkswagen Beetles. For the past two decades, he drove Toyota Tacomas.
Terry was the life of the party, a great storyteller, and had a wickedly quick sense of humor that is so dearly missed. Terry is survived by his wife, Jennifer; daughters Kendra of Fort Collins, CO, and Sonda of Ault, CO; son Peter and his spouse, Chelsea Ahlbrandt of Severance, CO; and grandchildren Stella Dodds, Peyton Sutton, and Charlie Sutton; and sister Carol Makris of Thornton, CO.
In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his siblings, Leonard "Lenny" Dodds and Barbara "Bobbie" Lybarger.
A memorial with military honors for Terry will be held this summer at Fort Logan National
Cemetery in Denver, CO, with his family and friends.
