Terry Lantry

Terry L. Lantry, 71 (CSU Professor Emeritus) of Fort Collins, Colorado died Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at his home with his wife by his side, holding his hand. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 14th at St. John's Lutheran Church, 305 E. Elizabeth, Fort Collins. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday at the church.  The interment follows his service at Grandview Cemetery, Ft. Collins. Terry Lorin Lantry was born on May 21, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to Charles and Bertha Lantry. He earned his undergraduate and JD degrees at Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana; then went on to earn his MBA and CPA at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. On June 4, 1962 Terry married Judith Carolyn Bloss in Elkhart, Indiana.  From this union, three children were born. In 1965 Terry, Judy and the children moved to Fort Collins from Bloomington. He began his career as a Professor in the College of Business at Colorado State University, retiring in 2004.  He also was a licensed attorney and certified public accountant in the states of Indiana and Colorado until retiring those licenses in good standing. Terry was an active member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and served the church in many capacities. He was also a member of many professional organizations including serving as Past President of the American Business Law Association.  In 1976 he joined the Board of PERA and served as its chairman of the board of trustees from 1980 until 1990.  He also served on the Board of the Colorado Society of CPA's and was past president of NCPERS.  Terry wrote many articles related to business as well as a text book.  He traveled world wide and in each of the fifty United States and he also enjoyed gardening, reading, water color painting, cards, and a daily game of Yahtzee with Judy. Regardless of all he accomplished in his life, the two things that most define Terry, the man, are his love of God and his family.  He was most satisfied being a servant of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is survived by his wife Judy; sons Mark (and Catherine) Lantry of Erie, CO and Robert (and Kelly) Lantry of Mt. Vernon, WA; his daughter Tracy (and William) Evanko of Golden, CO; his sister Betty of Largo, FL; and his grandchildren Brian and Lisa Evanko, Kaitlyn, Jacob, Brady and Johnathan Terry Lantry and Tristan Cain. Terry was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Bertha; and brothers Charles and Glenn. The family wishes to thank the angels of Hospice of Larimer County, especially Gayle, Amy, Cheri, Laura and Alan and the on-call staff Cathy, Barbie, Brittany, Marina, Roberta, Peggy and the intake staff Laura and Joe.
