Thomas Lee Bottom

Thomas Lee Bottom, age 83 of Laramie, Wyoming died May 29th in Loveland, CO after suffering a fall at his home. In celebration of Tom's life two special events are planned. Please help family and friends honor Tom at either one or both casual events beginning at us at 10:30 AM Saturday, June 15th at Church at the Wyoming Territorial Park, 975 Snowy Range Road in Laramie, Wyoming then at 12:30 PM that same day, a Video/Memorial and Celebration of Tom's Life will be followed by a meal & fellowship at the Eppson Center for Seniors, 1560 North Third Street, Laramie Wyoming

Long-time Albany County rancher, water commissioner, inventor, entrepreneur, business owner, dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, Thomas Bottom, (Sr.) has gone fishing forever.
Born in 1930 at a small ranch house north of Rock River, Thomas, known as "Tom" by his family and friends, worked on and owned a 3000 acre ranch for 35 years. While in town one day, he saw a beautiful lady by the name of Marvel Runnels and said, "I'm going to marry that woman". And so he did and proceeded to have four children; three girls and one boy.
In 1965, Tom moved his family to Laramie, Wyoming, where he became Deputy Water Commissioner for Albany County. For 23 years, Tom roamed Albany County and the Wheatland area, regulating water for the ranchers and farmers of the Great Plains. While working for the county, he built and developed Bottom's Mobile Home Park in West Laramie.
Tom was an avid hunter, guide and fisherman and was known by many as the 'King' fisherman. Wyoming sports were his passion, especially his beloved Girls basketball team. Tom was known by all as a hard worker and passionate man. He was the kind of man who treated you like you wanted to be treated, and had an individual connection with everyone he met.
Tom was preceded in death by his daughter, Leann and great-granddaughter, Suheyla Akdeniz; his parents, Ray and Mary Bottom; his father and mother in law, Shep and Velma Runnells; and siblings, Lyla Emerson, Jess, John, Bill and Roy Bottom. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 62 years, Marvel, his sister, Dorothy Masterson, three children, Cindy (and John) Roccaforte of Fort Collins, Thomas Bottom, Jr (and Janee) of West Jordan, Utah and Margie (and Curt) Schurman of Aplington, Iowa, a son-in-law, Bill Jussila (Leann's husband) of Laramie, nine grandchildren, Christy (Chad) Mestel, Justin (April) Brolyer, Brian Jussila, Amy (Halil) Akdeniz, Erik (Robyn) Jussila, T.J. (Karen) Bottom, Taylor Bottom, Shauna Schurman and Kendra (Chris) Mosman; and eleven great-grandchildren.
