Tyler Wayne Mills

Tyler Wayne Mills, 34, of Fort Collins, sadly passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 9, 2015. Tyler was born May 8, 1980 in Fort Collins, Colorado, to Cheryl and Gerald Mills. Tyler grew up and attended school in Fort Collins. He had a very active childhood; whether it was on his Huffy bike, (he hated Huffy bikes), skateboard, swimming at SCCA pool, or just terrorizing the neighborhood, he was always on the move.

Tyler had a natural athleticism that was a source of envy. He excelled in soccer, wrestling, and wake-boarding, but he could quickly pick up and excel at any sport. As good as he was in sports, he was even better in friendships. He was a social butterfly and had friends of every age and walk of life. Tyler became an accomplished journeyman mason, a trade that he learned from his Uncle Fred Soderberg. He enjoyed and took pride in his craft and this reflected in the quality of his work. He was a favorite co-worker of most, bringing an incredible sense of humor and personality to the job site.

Tyler will be remembered most for his infectious smile, incredible personality, tremendous wit and giving heart. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his two sons, who were his greatest source of happiness, Tyler (8) and Trevor (6) Mills; his sister Carrie (Tory) Makloski; nephews Bayley, Riley, Brody and Joey Makloski; Uncles Fred (Linda) Soderberg, Randy (Robin) Soderberg, Aunt Susie (Dick) Miller and numerous cousins. He is also survived by his stepmother Sonja Mills and ex-wife Heather Wagner.

Tyler was preceded in death by his parents Cheryl and Gerald Mills, his grandmothers Mary Thomas and Eula Mills, and his Uncle Stevie Thomas. A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, February 21th at Timberline Church in the South Auditorium.
