Our loving mother, sister and friend, Veda McWhorter, went to sleep in death Thursday June 13, 2019; she was 88 years old. Born in 1931 in Illinois, she graduated from high school in Sigourney, Iowa and went on to marry her loving husband Darrel and to travel with him in his life of road construction across Wyoming and Montana. They lived in many towns in those road construction years – Rock Springs, Rawlins, Casper and finally settling in Cheyenne, Wyoming. After her divorce she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah and worked for the records division of Equitable Life Insurance until her retirement, at which time she moved to Sheridan, Wyoming to be close to family.
She will be lovingly remembered by her four daughters, Bonnie Musgrove and Beverly Novick, both of Bozeman Montana, Brenda and her husband Tony Beach of Sheridan, Wyoming, and Barbara and her husband Randy Lerich of Fort Collins, Colorado. She will also be missed by her six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and two siblings, Kermit and his wife Marge Veach of Gardner, Kansas, and Ruby Belcher of Phoenix, Arizona.
Veda loved to travel, loved quilting, needlepoint and was a great cook! Our lives are much richer for knowing her!
