Viola Zimmerman

Viola Belle Zimmerman, 88, of Ft. Collins died June 23 at home following a two year battle with cancer. Belle was born February 12, 1922, graduated Valedictorian from Daley High School in 1940. She attended Colorado State College of Education (now UNC) on a scholarship. Belle married Orville K. Zimmerman while he was in the service on October 11, 1942. They ranched and farmed near Haxtun, Colorado. They moved to Ft. Collins in 1965 where they managed apartment complexes until their retirement in 1984. Belle is survived by three daughters and their families: Judy (Bill) Veydovec, Jo Ann (Claude) Goddard, and Jo Dell (Truman) Harsha, seven grandchildren and eleven great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, her mother and her father. A celebration of life will be held July 25 from 1:30-3:30 PM at the Senior Center. A special thanks to Dr. James Moore and staff, Pathways Hospice, and the many nurses who cared for her. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice.
