Walter Moos

Mar 11, 1927 — Jul 26, 2017

On July 26, 2017, Walter Moos (90) was welcomed by the Lord into his eternal home. He was born March 11, 1927 in Switzerland, the eldest of 4 children of Johann and Rosa Moos. As a youth he loved Bible stories and Swiss history. He started his career at 17 as a metal worker and later became an electrician. In 1957, Walter immigrated to the United States with his bride Margrith and settled in Colorado Springs where he remained employed as a loyal and hard-working electrician for 41 years; first for Cook and later for Berwick Electric.

He epitomized 1 Peter 4:10: "As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace." Walter enjoyed volunteering at Corpus Christi Parish with the Wednesday Warriors, retired tradesmen ensuring the upkeep of the school and church. He loved nature, hiking, and organic gardening which fed the family and produced a surplus for friends and neighbors.

Walter was married for 36 years to Margrith, the love of his life, who died in 1992. He was humble, kind and a great example for his 5 grown children - Tom, Damian, Lucia (Poffinbarger), Anita (Keller), and Philip Moos - and influenced the lives of 13 grandchildren, who all survive him. He moved to Windsor, CO in 2015 and to Fort Collins in 2016.

Walter cherished family time and generously contributed to biennial reunions to bring together his children and grandchildren, who live coast to coast, for a week of family bonding and enjoying the outdoors.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 10:30 am at St Paul's Episcopal Church, 1208 W. Elizabeth St, Fort Collins, CO. Light reception luncheon to follow.
