Wilbur James Wojahn, 76, of Fort Collins, CO, died May 20, 2012 at his home. A visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 Friday, May 25th at Goes Funeral Care, 3665 Canal Drive, Suite E, Ft. Collins. A memorial service/celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 26th at Danforth Chapel on the CSU Campus. Wilbur was born October 13, 1935 in Windom, Minnesota; one of eight children born to Julius and Anna Wojahn. He grew up on the family farm and attended Windom High School. He married Sandra Sykora Solien on October 29, 1960. He graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1963. After graduation, he went to work for Rural Cooperative Power Association in Elk River, MN. In 1966, he took a job with Colorado State University as a Resident Electrical Engineer for Facilities Management. He found great fulfillment in his work and was recently honored for over 45 years of service. Wilbur had many interests. He loved hiking, camping, and traveling. One of his proudest accomplishments was climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa in1990 with a group organized through CSU. With his wife, Sandy, he followed the entire Lewis & Clark Trail during the expedition's bicentennial. He was an avid Bronco fan, loved science, astronomy, and belonged to a computer club for many years. Wilbur is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandy; three children, Jaye Talbott of Albuquerque, NM, Jere Zimmerman of Golden, CO and Juhl Wojahn of Ft. Collins; three siblings, Melvin and Orville Wojahn of Windom and Carolyn Strausser of Welcome, MN; Sandy's sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Thom Edgar of Laramie, WY; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
