William R. Morse Jr.

William R. Morse Jr. was born on February 13, 1948 in Iowa Falls, Iowa to William Morse Sr. and Loretta Morse. Bill attended Waterloo High School where he was on the varsity tennis team and graduated in 1966. After graduation the family moved to Wheat Ridge, CO. Bill graduated from Colorado State University in 1970 majoring in Industrial Construction Management.

In January, 1967, Bill met his wife, Marilyn, at a CSU Friday 13th dance. He proposed on April Fools’ Day and they were married at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ft. Collins by Labor Day 1967. The family moved to Riverton, WY in 1972 where Bill built modular homes for StyleHomes and later became a journeyman plumber.

Bill loved sports and started officiating Fast Pitch Softball in 1972. During the summer, Bill umpired Wyoming Men's & Women's Fast Pitch Softball Tournament and local league games. One night he was asked to play for a team that was short a player and this started his new love, playing. He ended up playing for many years and eventually the team competed in Las Vegas Over 40 Tournament. Bill was proud when he was chosen to officiate at National Men's Fast Pitch Softball Tournament in San Antonio, TX. Bill also officiated Wyoming Boys & Girls High School Basketball; Girl's High School Volleyball and Junior College basketball. After moving to Windsor, CO in 1994, Bill officiated Colorado Girl's High School Volleyball. He was active in Riverton, WY Ambassador Group, Elk Club, coaching youth soccer and St. Margaret's Boy’s basketball. But his true love was watching the Denver Broncos. You could hear him yelling and coaching from the living room.

In 1994, Bill and Marilyn, moved back to Colorado settling in Windsor. Bill was a member of Our Lady of the Valley for 30 years, serving as a lecturer and loved singing in the choir. Bill earned his CO journeyman plumbing license and worked on various new commercial construction buildings in Northern Colorado and retired 2012. Bill and Marilyn loved to travel, especially in Alaska and Hawaii. They have been married for 58 years and have 2 children, Will and Jeannette, and 3 grandchildren, Wm. Connor, Kellicia and Manny.
