Wilma A. Vincent, age 80 of Fort Collins, CO died April 28, 2010 at Pathways Hospice Care Center in Loveland, CO. Memorial services will be held at a future date in Fort Collins, CO and Grove City, OH. Wilma Grace Allemang was born to Wilbur and Grace (Gerhardt) Allemang on September 9, 1929 in Marion Township, Fayette County, Ohio and grew up in and around Washington Court House and New Holland, Ohio. She graduated from New Holland High School in 1947 and enrolled in Capital University in the fall of 1948 where she attended for two years. She married her high school sweetheart, Jack, in October of 1950 and that happy marriage continued until her passing. She followed her husband throughout his military service and worked for the Army at Fort Benning, Georgia. When Jack was discharged from the Army, they returned to Columbus, OH where she transferred her employment to the Columbus Military Supply Depot, helping to support Jack's education until his graduation from The Ohio State University in 1956. Jack's employment experiences took the family to several different locations including Cleveland, OH; Buffalo, NY; Orlando, Fl and finally Fort Collins, CO, where Jack accepted a position with Colorado State University from which he subsequently retired in 1989. Wilma was a former member of Madison Mills United Methodist Church (OH) and a current member of Grove City United Methodist Church (OH). While living in central Ohio, her service to the church included working as Membership Secretary and accompanying the children's choir. Wilma's favorite activities and hobbies were primarily music, travel, shopping, collecting, and needlework. Wilma is survived by her husband, Jack R. Vincent; two daughters, Victoria Vincent of Columbus, OH and Jennifer Vincent of Speedway, IN; granddaughter Amylyn (Tyler) Thomas of Sierra Vista, AZ; two great-grandchildren, Gabriel Ray Thomas and Kayla Mae Thomas of Sierra Vista, AZ; and cousins, Bonnie (Richard) Garwood, Judith (Charles) Konesky and Joanne (Richard) Bartchy. Her family requests that any memorial donations please be made to The American Cancer Society or Pathways Hospice, 305 Carpenter Rd., Fort Collins, CO 80525.
