Eid al-Adha is a holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to commemorate the willingness of Abraham (Ibrahim) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. Eid is also about spending time with family and being gracious for blessings.
All Choral Holiday Concert December 4th & 5th
CSU - University Center for the Arts
This annual concert is put on by the choral groups at CSU. There is a sing- a-long. You can even sing in parts/harmony. An added performance by the Opera Theatre and their "Amahl & the Night Visitors" adds a nice holiday touch.

This season everyone can carol the streets of Old Town Fort Collins. The 18th annual Carolfest brings together people of all ages and singing abilities in song and celebration. The public is welcome to come sing to their hearts content while being lead by professional singers. This free event begins at 6:30pm
Girls Night Out December 4th

Start your shopping with December's Girls Night Out in Old Town. You can shop till you drop or until 8:00. Event runs from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at retail locations all around Old Town. Finish the night with a late dinner at one of our local restaurants.
Feast of Saint Nicholas December 6th

Saint Nicholas', the Bishop of Myra, feast day is celebrated today. He had a reputation for secret gift-giving, such as putting coins in the shoes of those who left them out for him, and thus became the model for Santa Claus, whose English name comes from the Dutch Sinterklaas. As a family, we put out our wooden shoes (Goes is a Dutch name) the night before and get candy canes, chocolate coins and a small gift. We then focus on the Christ Child for Christmas.
Trumpets for Christmas December 6th

Come enjoy the exciting sounds of "Trumpets for Christmas". This concert of community players is comprised solely of trumpets and coronets. Over 40 trumpets will play their versions of classic holiday songs in Oak Street Plaza! Free to the public and enjoyed by all! Begins at 3:00 pm.

Messiah Sing Along December 6th

Hanukkah December 12th to December 19th

Hanukkah begins at sundown on the 11th and continues through the 19th. Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday commemorating the re-dedication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem at the time of the Maccabean Revolt. At the time, there was only enough consecrated olive oil to fuel the eternal flame in the Temple for one day. Miraculously, the oil burned for eight days.

Lighting of the Hannukah Menorah December 13th

Join Fort Collins Mayor Doug Hutchinson and Colorado Congresswoman Betsy Markey and the community for a Hannukah celebration, featuring lighting of the giant Menorah, Jewish holiday music and traditional foods. Event will begin at 4:30 pm.
Rocky Mountain High School's Holiday Stocking December 14th

Join Rocky Mountain High School for this local tradition rich with musical talent. A collaborative concert, featuring Rocky's top chamber choirs, jazz ensembles, bands and orchestras, where holiday favorites and more are played without pause. Shows are at 4:30 and 7:30.
