Losing a loved one is never easy. It can be hard to imagine moving on and finding love again after such a devastating loss. Love can be received and given in many different forms. Through relationships, friendships, experiences and enlightenment it is possible to bring love back into your life. Here are our top five tips for finding love after loss:

Don't put too much pressure on yourself.

It's important to allow yourself time to grieve and mourn the loss of your loved one. Don't try to force yourself to move on too quickly. Moving forward after losing your loved one is essential but don’t put too much pressure on yourself to do it right away; give yourself time to heal and recover; and above all else remember that this is a big adjustment and will take time.

Focus on yourself and your happiness first.

If you don't believe you deserve love and happiness, you'll never find it. Believe that you're worthy of finding it and you will. Happiness is something we create for ourselves. It doesn't come from the things you have, but the ways you think. That's why in order to be happy you need to focus on yourself and your happiness first.

Enjoy your life.

Enjoy the time that is left to you. It's too easy to get caught up in a situation where we feel like we are always waiting for something out of our lives, but what happens when you don't enjoy the present? Take a moment to reflect on the things that bring you joy and focus your time and energy there.

Be open-minded.

Don't be afraid to open up to something new. After a loss, it can be difficult to trust new things, people or experiences. But try to keep an open mind and give yourself a chance to find happiness.

Seek out opportunities for connection.

Get out there and socialize! Go to meetups, join clubs or groups, or volunteer. When you’re feeling lonely, it’s easy to feel stuck in that moment and think you’ll always feel that way. But the truth is, loneliness is a neutral state that everyone experiences from time to time. Loneliness can be a positive force in your life if you use it as an opportunity to seek out connections — with other people, your passions, or yourself. It’s not about trying to avoid being alone; it’s about making conscious choices to spend time on things that make you happy and fulfilled.

Finding love after loss is possible. Just remember to keep your heart open and let it find its way back to you.
